Summer Camp Jobs Across the US

Summer camps made a name for themselves on the East Coast, with states like Maine and New York remaining some of the most iconic destinations for the traditional summer camp experience. Despite the popularity of East Coast camps, there are actually incredible summer camp job opportunities in every state across the U.S.!

A common theme amongst U.S. summer camps is that they are often immersed in nature, so, no matter which region you find work in, chances are, you will be surrounded by natural beauty. Even the oft-overlooked Midwestern states are host to camps in lush, forested nature, with dazzling lakes and clear blue skies

When searching for your ideal camp job, it may be important for you to consider the region you’d most like to spend a summer in. Your days off might include exploring nearby landmarks, so if you’ve always wanted to swim in the ocean, hike through a Redwood Forest, or see the Golden Gate Bridge, you can safely narrow down your search to camps in Northern California.

Your strengths and the activities you want to teach might impact your decision on where to look for a summer camp job. You may know that you have a future in marine science, so finding a camp near the ocean, or a camp that even offers marine biology or ocean adventures might be the best option for you.  

Another worthwhile consideration is the weather. Summers in the U.S. are hot no matter where you are, but if you know for a fact that you will be unhappy working outdoors in a humid climate, you might want to rule out working at a camp in Florida!
